Stance on Five Topics

1.Immigration

Libertarians seem to stand in the middle ground between open immigration and controlled border laws. While they do believe in liberty for all people and giving opportunities to immigrants, they also believe in control and order in terms of immigration. In conclusion, the party is neither totally for, nor totally against immigration.

2. Education

When it comes to education, the part believes in lowering tuition costs for colleges. Some of their goals include to get rid of the Department of Education, get rid of Common Core, and allow parents to fully decide the education of students. From getting rid of governmental subsidies to colleges, the party believes that a free-market competition between schools will lower costs of education.

3. Environment

The Libertarian Party believes that the government is the greatest pollution source there is. As such, many of this party wish to promote individual property rights over federal property rights. They believe that individuals are more capable of preserving nature than the federal government, and they wish to rid government interaction in land ownership.

4. Drug Legalization

The Libertarian Party is very pro-legalization. One of their goals is to end the War on Drugs. They argue that drug prohibition is detrimental to many is the States. With the legalization of drugs, the party wishes to end black-market profits and eliminate some illegal behavior. They also are against drug prohibition because it infringes on their rights.

5. Taxation

The Libertarian Party wishes to repeal all sorts of income tax. They also wish to get rid of the Internal Revenue Service. They believe that the government should not be in debt, and should fix that debt by spending less not taxing more.
